How we got in to showing:
We first got in to showing almost 2 years ago. We decided to take the opportunity to do something with
our dogs while still spending time with our family. Well, little did we realize that dog shows were addicting
and after the first show we were hooked. We have a travel trailer and spend many weekends traveling with
all the dogs and my top notch junior handler daughter. We found that it was wonderful family time and
gave us the opportunity to make new friends and meet some amazing people. The dog shows have also
taught my daughter more than we could have ever thought in the way of sportsmanship, maturity,
responsibility, and life in general. Of course she has had many people that have helped her along the way,
without them she would not be where she is today. They all deserve a big thank you.

About me
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Stephanie and I am the proud owner of some amazing dogs. I am a
small family kennel located in mid Michigan. My dogs are an integral part of our lives and tend to come before
my husband (ha/ha)! I currently own two Portuguese Water Dogs, four Chinese Cresteds, and one mismatched
Miniature Longhair Dachshund who adores my husband. The rest of my family consists of my other half, an
18 year old son, and 11 year old twins. Please visit the Junior Showmanship page to see one of the top junior
handlers in UKC!
Of course we do hold somewhat normal lives. My husband is an electrical engineer and I am a Registered Nurse.
I currently teach at a community college in several of the health sciences programs. My children attend school
as usual where they all hold remarkable grades. My daughter is a competitive cheerleader which means practice,
practice, practice, not to mention the competitions. My oldest son is still figuring out what he wants to do after
high school, but certainly has the brains to do anything. The other half of the twin equation is my younger son.
He has been recently diagnosed with Autism but despite that is an amazing kid. He thinks that ice packs and
epsom salt soaks cure everything!
